First Ward council petition rejected

The Logan County Board of Elections met Friday morning to certify petitions for the May 7 Special/Primary Election, rejecting only one petition for a council office.

The petition of Tom Reynolds, who sought a First Ward council seat, was rejected for falling short on the required number of valid signatures.

The board approved annual campaign finance reports and is challenging seven voters on residency requirements.

The next meeting is at 8 a.m. March 4, when the board will approve the May 7 ballot.
