Rushsylvania resident Alice Strawser was recently named the 2012 Volunteer of the Year for Discovery Riders, a Zanesfield area accredited therapeutic riding center for children and adults with special needs.

“From day one, she has gone above and beyond as a volunteer,” Director Linda Hauck said in an e-mail. “She was always there for us when asked to do special projects or help out in any way.”
