Mad River Mountain and members of its weekly all-female ski & snowboard program “The Snow Angels” present their annual “Pretty in Pink” event Sunday to benefit breast cancer research.
Male and female skiers and riders are invited to participate in various events. Mad River Mountain will donate $1 from every lift ticket sold to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Guests are encouraged to wear pink and can also contribute to the cause by purchasing support items such as bandanas and T-shirts, as well as raffle tickets for an end-of-day raffle. The raffle will feature prizes such as a custom Mad River Mountain Snowboard and autographed Ohio State football memorabilia.
Two competitions will include the Giant Slalom Fun Race on Regulator at 1 p.m., followed by an all-ability Rail Jam on the Lower Louie Vito Terrain Park at 2 p.m. The cost to participate in one or both activities is $10.
All contestants will receive a goodie bag filled with support items and complimentary raffle tickets.
Pretty in Pink is Mad River Mountain’s second charity event of the season. A rail jam during December raised $1,400 for the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
