Amanda Smith, 32, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot B2, Zanesfield, was transported by Huntsville squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash early Monday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that she was operating a westbound sport utility vehicle on U.S. Route 33 at County Road 37 about 4:10 a.m. when she drove off the right side of the road and struck an embankment. Her SUV then crossed C.R. 37, struck a stop sign, and then struck another embankment and overturned.
Damage was disabling to her vehicle, and it was towed from the scene.
Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. No citations yet have been issued to the driver.
