Champaign County crash claims woman

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — Deputies of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash about 4:34 p.m. Monday in the 6500 block of Zimmerman Road that claimed the life of a Springfield woman.

Deputies report Miranda C. Biniarz, 20, was operating a southbound car on Zimmerman Road when she lost control and struck a guardrail.

Ms. Biniarz was transported by squad to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana, where she was later pronounced dead.

Three passengers in the Biniarz vehicle — Bryan Hall, 22, also of Springfield, a 3-year-old girl and a 3-month-old boy — were treated at the scene and released.  

St. Paris Fire and EMS and Urbana EMS assisted at the scene.

Investigation continues.
