The Logan County Branch of the American Association of University Women recently discussed the results from an assessment taken from the superintendents and/or athletic directors of the four Logan County high schools.
Martha O’Connor, Kim Hassell, Carol Parker and Ann Beck made up the committee that conducted interviews to determine whether the schools comply with Title IX’s requirements relating to equitable opportunities for participation for girls and women, equitable resources and benefits and equitable access to funding and scholarships.
Title IX states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
