Troopers report Gary-Saint Amand, 34, of Stone Mountain, Ga., was operating a northbound semi on S.R. 31 when Mr. Brice's southbound SUV lost control and traveled into the northbound lane. The semi then struck the SUV, went left of center and struck a guardrail before coming to rest. The SUV came to rest in the northbound lane.
Mr. Brice was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi driver and his unidentified passenger were transported to Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville for non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and all were wearing seat belts, according to troopers' reports.
Assisting at the scene were personnel from Liberty Township Fire Department, Northern Union County EMS, Union County EMA and the patrol's crash reconstruction unit.
The crash remains under investigation.
