Local schools to receive more than $200,000
Tax revenue funneled into the area from Ohio casinos will not be dispersed into the county’s general fund, Logan County Commissioners confirmed Thursday.
The $119,418.37 Logan County has received in two payments from three casinos already online in Toledo, Cleveland and Columbus will be placed in the capital improvements fund.
Likewise, Logan County Auditor Michael Yoder said the county is to get another $105,793.15 at the end of this month, which represents tax over the final three months of 2012.
That payment will also be appropriated to capital improvements.
“As you can see, we have some capital improvements to make,” Commissioner Tony Core said, gesturing toward the ongoing work to repair the county courthouse.
