A Sunday barn fire near Ridgeway caused upwards of $200,000 damage to a Logan County farmer’s equipment and building, authorities report.
Bokescreek Township firefighters and rescue workers were called to the fully engulfed 7853 N. State Route 292 structure fire at 10:19 a.m., Fire Chief Don Detrick reported.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, but it is not considered a suspicious fire, Chief Detrick said.
He credited quick actions of the estimated 15 to 16 firefighters, which included support from Rushcreek, Ridgeway and the Southeast Hardin-Northwest Union fire departments, in saving a second structure.
“They did a good job of stopping it from spreading to the second barn, which was attached,” the chief said.
The barn housed farm equipment and other machinery. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters remained on the scene for about three hours, the chief said.. (Photo/Traci Gray-Miller)
