Timothy J. Dawson, 49, of DeGraff, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to control following a crash the evening of Dec. 27.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 9:30 p.m. to the area of county roads 43 and 31 in reference to a vehicle in the ditch.
Mr. Dawson reportedly had been operating a westbound car that lost control and drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a mailbox.
Deputies observed that the driver showed signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were performed, and he was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he tested a .223 blood alcohol content level.
