Conover man claimed in crash

Richard Prince, 78, of Conover, was killed Sunday morning after being struck by a pickup truck along North Hampton Road in Clark County.

Troopers of the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report Brian M. Blanton, 19, of Springfield, was driving a northbound pickup on North Hampton Road north of Johnson Road about 10:50 a.m. when his vehicle struck Mr. Prince.

Mr. Prince was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Dr. Richard A. Marsh. At the time of the crash, the deceased reportedly was standing in the roadway unloading a piece of machinery from a tractor-trailer parked along the road.

The pickup driver was not injured.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office and Pike Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
