After 27 years in the Logan County Recorder’s Office with 12 of those years as recorder, Linda Hanson announced her retirement on Thursday.
She cited family health concerns as the main reason she chose to hang up her hat but acknowledged in an interview that pending changes to the Public Employee Retirement System also prompted her decision.
She sought and won re-election during the 2012 election cycle, but did not attend the swearing in ceremony that took place Thursday morning. Instead she had left the letter dated Dec. 26, which she asked not be opened until after the swearing in event.
