A stolen vehicle complaint received early Christmas morning led to the arrest of two juveniles and two adults who allegedly are involved in the theft of several other vehicles in the area, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
One of the juveniles arrested, Tyler Oakley, 17, of 283 Stephenson St., Lakeview, had been reported missing by his family on Friday.
Tyler has been charged with two counts of the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, three counts of receiving stolen property, one count of theft and underage consumption.
He was apprehended at a residence located at lot 42 of the Tammy Lynn Mobile Home Park, 16098 N. State Route 235, Belle Center.
Also arrested at that location were Christian Kindle, 16, of 340 N. Main St., Lakeview; and Tyler L. Hudson, 19, and Marcus Haley Jr., 20, both of Dayton.
Christian and Mr. Hudson each were charged with the two counts of the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of receiving stolen property. Mr. Hudson also was issued charges for underage consumption and the theft of firearm.
Mr. Haley was charged with receiving stolen property and underage consumption.
About 1 a.m. Tuesday, deputies received a report from theft victim David Eshelman, 11319 N. Lake Dr., Lakeview, who said his 1993 Cadillac had been stolen from his residence.
To look for the vehicle, deputies responded to the area of the Tammy Lynn Mobile Home Park, where a stolen vehicle had been recovered the previous evening.
After arriving at the mobile home park, deputies located the stolen Cadillac parked at lot 45. Another stolen vehicle, a 1989 Toyota Camry, was located next to the Cadillac.
Residents at the complex told deputies that they observed several unknown male subject run inside lot 42.
Deputies soon observed Tyler Oakley walk outside of lot 42, reportedly showing signs of intoxication.
He was taken into custody, and during a search of his person, a GPS unit, a wireless tablet and a key to a stolen pickup were found by deputies.
Shortly thereafter, the three other subjects inside the residence were apprehended.
In addition, the suspects reportedly were involved in the theft of two pickups Monday. One pickup was taken from the residence of Gary Burkoker, 8929 Hilltop Drive, Kings Landing, Lakeview, and another from the property of Chad Dally, 9016 Acheson Resort, Turkeyfoot, Lakeview.
Also related to these thefts, Steven Wilkes, 8653 King Road, Lakeview, reported Monday that a firearm and GPS unit were stolen from his vehicle.
The juveniles were lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center, and Mr. Hudson and Mr. Haley were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
