Huntsville incident leads to OVI arrest

Jeffrey J. Rollins, 22, of 424 W. Brown Ave., Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and driving under suspension following an incident early Sunday morning.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 3:25 a.m. about a suspected drunk driver whose vehicle was stuck in a driveway at 6640 Lima St., Huntsville.

When deputies arrived, they found the vehicle was stuck in a driveway at the rear of the residence. The vehicle’s rear tires reportedly were in the grass and an odor of burning rubber was observed.

Deputies found Mr. Rollins asleep at the wheel of the vehicle. The vehicle’s engine was running and its headlights were turned on.

The driver reportedly failed field sobriety tests at the scene. He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to take blood alcohol content tests.
