Ridgemont Board of Education members were briefed at their Thursday evening meeting about a service-learning project conducted by first-graders that brought Christmas to children staying at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
First-grade students developed a business and marketing plan for selling Christmas gift tags in the community. Then they created the gift tags and sold them at local businesses.
Proceeds of the project were used to purchase gifts, and a local donor provided funds for students to personally deliver the gifts to children at the hospital.
