Personnel from the Bellefontaine Fire & EMS Department prepare Brent Carter, 50, of 313 Kelly Way for transport after he was run over by a sport utility vehicle in his driveway around 8:20 a.m. today.

He was taken by a helicopter to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he was getting out of the vehicle when he bumped it into reverse. The vehicle began rolling back and he lost his footing trying to regain control of it. It rolled over his chest before coming to a stop in the street.
