Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department are asking anyone who may have witnessed a 7-year-old girl being struck by “a green car with square headlights” shortly after 4 p.m. Friday at the intersection of south Madriver Street and west Williams Avenue to contact the department with information.
Officers were called to 421 N. Madriver St., where the parents of Jayden Browning reported the incident after the child came home from the bus stop.
Jayden reported being discharged off the bus and waiting for the bus to continue southbound on Madriver. She reportedly was struck by a green car with square headlights and said the car continued on Williams toward Main Street.
The child suffered minor scrapes to her knee and hands, but was not treated or seen by a squad.
Call 599-1010 with information leading to the suspect vehicle.
