Crash reported in front of East Liberty Honda plant

Ted J. Myers, 46, of Cable, was transported by Perry Township squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for minor injuries sustained in a crash about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in front of the East Liberty Honda plant.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that Matthew Tackett, 18, of Lakeview, was operating an eastbound car in the 11000 block of State Route 347 when he reached down to grab a drink and then ran a red light at the plant entrance.

His vehicle struck a northbound car operated by Mr. Myers, who was attempting to exit the plant and make a left-hand turn onto S.R. 347.

Mr. Tackett did not report any injuries.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

Mr. Tackett was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and also received a seat belt violation.

Driver uninjured in rollover crash

Eric J. Keller, 18, of Kenton, did not report any injuries following a crash on State Route 292 just north of County Road 48 Tuesday morning.

He reportedly was operating a northbound sport utility vehicle about 6:35 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and overcorrected, causing his vehicle to overturn and slide off the right side of the roadway. The SUV then came to rest upright in a ditch.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The driver reportedly was wearing his seat belt.

Mr. Keller was cited for failure to control.
