Winter Crisis Program offers assistance
Tri-County Community Action can help area residents apply for the Winter Crisis Program, which is available to help eligible low income Ohioans who are at or below 200 percent of the poverty level meet their heating costs.
The Winter Crisis Program runs through March 31 and helps clients who have been disconnected from their heat source, have a disconnect notice or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.
Applicants must bring to their appointment: household income for the past 13 weeks, photo identification and Social Security cards, utility bills, and proof of disability if disabled.
If your income is zero, you must have proof that explains how you maintain your household. If a family or friend provides financial assistance, a written letter from the individual must be submitted.
To schedule an appointment to complete your application, contact Tri-County Community Action at 593-0034. In-home appointments are available for homebound residents.
