MARYSVILLE — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Joshua Beynon has been selected as the 2012 Trooper of the Year at the Marysville Post in recognition of outstanding service.
Fellow officers at the post chose Trooper Beynon, 27, based on his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.
He has served at the Marysville Post since joining the patrol in 2009, and now is in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Awards.
A native of Cambridge, Trooper Benyon is a graduate of Meadowbrook High School and attended Muskingum University and The Ohio State University.
He also has received the Criminal Patrol Award two consecutive years, Looking Beyond the Plate Award and the Health and Fitness Award.
Trooper Beynon and his fiancé, Lexie, reside in Westerville.
