Pastor’s return, military leave spark impromptu wedding

A life committed to military service can be difficult, requiring a major time commitment and willingness to always place service above self.

Anthony and Tabitha Park Jenkins are so advised and they’re OK with it.

The couple was married Monday in the Huntsville United Methodist Church, only three days after Anthony’s temporary return from a tour in Iraq with the Charlie Battery 1-174th Air Defense Artillery Regiment based out of Marysville. 

The ceremony itself was an intimate gathering, comprised of only the bride and groom’s immediate family totaling 13 people, all of whom donned scarlet and gray Ohio State fashion in lieu of more traditional wedding attire.

The couple was engaged on Valentine’s Day when Anthony proposed via Skype from Iraq.
