Roy Webb, a popular Christian pianist and Ohio native who has performed at the White House and venues around the country and worldwide, will take the stage Saturday evening with local gospel quartet Unto Him.
“This is a great opportunity for us to continue with the audience we do have and maybe expand our audience base,” Tim Walls of Unto Him said. “And it’s a chance for (Mr. Webb) to get up to Logan County again and build his fan base here.”
The pianist, who also sings and does some comedy on stage, has performed previously with the Signature Sound quartet at Calvary Baptist Church, but this will be his first performance at the Holland Theatre.
The concert came together after Unto Him member Rob Kilgore befriended Mr. Webb on Facebook and started discussing the idea of a concert in Logan County.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. with singing by Unto Him, followed by a solo performance by Mr. Webb before the two acts come together to conclude the show, Mr. Walls said.
Tickets are $15 for general admission or $25 for Artist’s Circle seating, which includes a 5:30 p.m. Saturday meet and greet with the musicians at Bellefontaine’s First Church of God and a chance to be on stage during the performance.
The Unto Him quartet, which is rounded out by members Bill Halter and Jerry Noble, will also release their second compact disc titled Grace during the event.
Tickets are available at the box office or by visiting www.thehollandtheatre.org.
