Driver killed in head-on crash

One person was killed in a head-on crash that occurred about 4:20 p.m. Tuesday in rural Union County.

Troopers from the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report Bradley V. Taylor, 57, of West Mansfield was northbound on West Mansfield-Mt. Victory Road in Washington Township when his Dodge Neon reportedly went left-of-center while negotiating a curve and struck head-on a southbound pickup driven by Lynne E. Smith, 54, of Kenton.
Mr. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers report.
The driver of the pickup was treated and released at Hardin County Memorial Hospital.
The patrol’s crash reconstruction unit are assisting in the investigation. The Union County Sheriff’s Office, Bokescreek Fire and EMS, Southeast Hardin and Southeast Hardin/Northwest Union fire departments asisstated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
