Helping the four-legged friends

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Lead Ambassadors on Friday presented Katy Hill of the Humane Society Serving Logan County and Siberian husky Hanigan with a check for $800.97, following a brief fundraising effort by the student group. Hanigan, one of 196 animals currently available for adoption at the local humane society, was recently rescued and brought to the society severely underweight and with neck injuries. Ambassadors include Meghan Wackerman, Kyla Colwell, Chelsea Jenkins, Tim Ranes, Lauryn Knepper, Lacey Rose, Austin Glasgow, Bailey Stillings, Kristine Faulkner, Bryton Osborne and principal Shelly Swaney. Electronics students Jacob Strine, Zach Schinker, Randy Drumm and Jonathan Nokes also were recognized for raising nearly 40 percent of the total donation. Those interested in adopting a pet may call 593-4277. (EXAMINER PHOTO | T.J. HUBBARD)
