Homelessness awareness event set

The Logan County Continuum of Care hosts a homelessness awareness event slated for noon Thursday at the Holland Theatre.

The goal of the event is to bring awareness to the fact that homelessness exists in Logan County and for more community members to become involved in the efforts to end homelessness, including how to support the Lighthouse Emergency Shelter and the Continuum of Care.

According to a point-in-time study conducted during January, there were a total of 151 “precariously housed” people in Logan County. This figure looks at residents who were staying at friends’ or family members’ homes.
