A Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window of a garage door at 320 Kennedy St. but did not go off, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department learned around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Ice Collette found remnants of the bottled incendiary device and called firefighters of the Bellefontaine Fire Department.
As there was no fire, the firefighters called in police to properly collect evidence.
That evidence will be forwarded to either the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation or the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Ms. Collette said she had not been in the garage for several days.
Anyone with information can call police at 599-1010 or 599-TIPS (8477).
