A DeGraff man led West Liberty Police on a 10-minute high speed chase through the countryside after failing to stop for a speed violation on U.S. Route 68 near Township Road 189 at 2:25 a.m. Sunday.

Officials reported during that chase, the driver, Shawn Matthew Conley, 28, of south Main Street, DeGraff, turned off his lights and was driving in the opposite lane, but there were no other vehicles on the roadways during the pursuit. The driver finally stopped on County Road 65 near State Route 508 when his vehicle became disabled.
Mr. Conley was charged with fleeing and eluding, speed, reckless operation and open container and taken to the Logan County Jail.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.
