Sex offender on the lam

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are on the lookout for a sex offender who had been living in Logan County and has not appeared for his scheduled appointment.

David A. Shaffer Jr., 34, had been living at 269 Grove Ave., Lakeview. His whereabouts at this time are unknown.

In 1999, he was convicted of attempted statutory rape of a 14-year-old female victim in West Virginia.

He is 6 foot 3 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds with a shaved head and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 592-5731.
