The village of Russells Point will be advertising the sale of acquired properties in the Examiner after passing an ordinance to that effect during a regular council meeting Monday.
The measure was passed unanimously by the six-member council after waiving the three-reading rule.
Citizen Dale Frymeyer, a member of the Habitat For Humanity Board of Directors, addressed council about the mission and history of the organization, and expressed the organization’s interest in those properties to build more homes for Habitat For Humanity eligible families.
Chief Joe Freyhof reported approximately 58 pounds of expired and unneeded medications were collected in the recent Medication Take Back program. He also reminded the community of the 8 p.m. curfew for those under the age of 18, and that seasonal residents should register at the municipal building for random house checks during the off-season.
