Bellefontaine Police Sgt. Allen Shields, left, and Ryan Hemmert, a fifth-year pharmacy student at Ohio Northern University, sort through items dropped off Saturday at the medication take-back day at Mary Rutan Hospital. Drop-off sites were also established in Belle Center, Russells Point and West Liberty and officials report a total of 195.5 pounds were dropped off, which is the most to date at one event. Included among the items was one prescription dated in August 1995. Reflected in the window taking items from a patron is Bellefontaine Police Officer Andy Kennedy. (EXAMINER PHOTO | MIRIAM BAIER) |
