Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s Board of Education met Wednesday following a three-hour board training session, in conjunction with the Ohio School Boards Association.
The board used webinar technology to participate in a distance learning training session with other career centers, including Great Oaks Career Campuses and Cuyahoga Valley Career Center.
After the training period, board members met for a brief monthly meeting where they approved basic business, including the approval of a resolution to submit a nomination in consideration for the OSBA’s Southwest Region A-Z Effective School Board Award, as “the board wishes to provide a vehicle for self-examination and to analyze steps taken to become a highly effective model for the district’s success.”
The board also heard monthly updates from both high school and adult education administrators, as well as enrollment updates from the Bellefontaine campus and high school satellites.
The board approved an extended unpaid leave of absence for high school intervention specialist Shannon Donnelly for the purpose of adoption.
The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23.
