Icy weather contributes to crash

Bryan Eades, 46, of DeGraff, was transported by West Liberty squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for minor visible injuries following a crash about 3:25 p.m. Monday on State Route 245 near Township Road 196.

Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that Mr. Eades was operating a southbound car that that drove left of center on a curve and struck the rear corner of a northeastbound sport utility vehicle operated by Anita Morris, 54, of West Liberty.

Mr. Eades’ vehicle then drove off the left side of the roadway, striking three curve warning signs, a stop sign, a mailbox, a ditch and a large tree.

His vehicle sustained disabling damage, while the SUV sustained light damage. No injuries were listed for Ms. Morris. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Mr. Eades was cited for failure to control.
