Lyons King at 1995 Logan County Open

Dave Lyons continued as the only Bellefontaine Examiner/Logan County Open champion as he beat Chris Conley by two strokes to win his second straight tournament title.

Lyons shot a final-round 77 at Tree Links to wrap up the 1995 crown. The Bellefontaine resident won the inaugural tourney a year earlier.

"I just tried to stay within myself," said Lyons. "I played good, solid golf and was happy with the way I played."

Lyons had a one-stroke lead after two rounds and was able to hold off Conley during the final round. Lyons finished with a three-round total of 220.

Conley had a 222, while Bud Eichholtz carded a 228 for third. Denny Lane, Don Houchin, Mike Vetorino and Tim Rader each totaled 233s.

J.J. Kratzenberg shot a 242 and outlasted Andy Burton and Allen Hall to win A Flight.

Dale Goff was the victor in B Flight with a 255, Mike Bowsher shot a 275 and won C Flight. Marsha Bowsher's 278 topped a field of four women in the tourney.
