Norma M. Beatty, 85, of Belle Center, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Akron on April 3, 1925, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ethel Dunson Sloan. On June 25, 1942, she married John W. Beatty in Kentucky and he preceded her in death July 5, 2010. She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Cousineau; and a nephew, Gary Hesser. Survivors include three daughters, Judy A. Cousineau of Bellefontaine, Jeanie E. (Charles) Sullivan of Belle Center and Jackie (Douglas) Woodward of Shellsburg, Iowa; a brother, Wilber Sloan and sister, Danna Musser, both of Kenton; grandchildren, Tara Johnson and Corey (Brieanne) Sullivan, both of Belle Center, Todd (Kelly) Cousineau of Batavia, Brian (Krista) Sullivan of Marysville and Tina Shuvo, Christine Woodward and Timothy (Ashley) Woodward, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and nine great-grandchildren. A homemaker, Norma worked for Siemens. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service and former member of the Morning Circle. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crafts and loved being with her family and friends. The Rev. Kevin Smith conducts a funeral at 3 p.m. Friday at the Belle Center United Methodist Church. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Belle Center, and one hour prior to the funeral Friday at the church. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
