Norma M. Beatty, 85, of Belle Center, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Akron on April 3, 1925, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ethel Dunson Sloan.
On June 25, 1942, she married John W. Beatty in Kentucky and he preceded her in death July 5, 2010. She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Cousineau; and a nephew, Gary Hesser.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy A. Cousineau of Bellefontaine, Jeanie E. (Charles) Sullivan of Belle Center and Jackie (Douglas) Woodward of Shellsburg, Iowa; a brother, Wilber Sloan and sister, Danna Musser, both of Kenton; grandchildren, Tara Johnson and Corey (Brieanne) Sullivan, both of Belle Center, Todd (Kelly) Cousineau of Batavia, Brian (Krista) Sullivan of Marysville and Tina Shuvo, Christine Woodward and Timothy (Ashley) Woodward, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and nine great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, Norma worked for Siemens. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service and former member of the Morning Circle.
She enjoyed camping, sewing, crafts and loved being with her family and friends.
The Rev. Kevin Smith conducts a funeral at 3 p.m. Friday at the Belle Center United Methodist Church. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Belle Center, and one hour prior to the funeral Friday at the church. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Center United Methodist Church Building Fund, 101 S. Center St., Belle Center 43310.

Victoria Lynn “Vicky” Nichols-Benner, of Lakeview, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 26, 2010, surrounded by friends and family.
She was born in Champaign County on July 29, 1956, a daughter of Carl (Beverly) Nichols, who survives, and the late Jean Hill. She was raised by three wonderful mothers, her great-grandmother, Helen Davis; grandmother Merle “Granny” Nichols, and her aunt, Margie Venrick, all of whom are deceased. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Tackett.
She is survived by two sons, Carl R. (Kim Rhoads) Tackett and Gene (Susan) Tackett, both of the Indian Lake area; grandchildren, Matthew Tackett, Skyler Tackett and Emma Tackett, all of Lakeview, Eleni Tackett of DeGraff, Ashley Stringfellow of Sidney and Tiffany Alloway of Springfield; and her siblings, Steven Nichols, Wayne Sells, Tim Sells, Rodney Souders, Vicky Hooper, Penny Souders and Tim Souders. She dearly loved her longtime friends, Terry and Cindy Nichols of Bellefontaine, Sally and Gary Miller of Russells Point and Julie Tillman; lifelong friends, Joe and Michelle Marrone, their daughter, Venecia (Scott) and grandson Kiernan, all of Vero Beach, Fla.
A very special thanks to all the support over the last months of her life to all her friends in her neighborhood, Carl and Bonnie Watkins, Michelle and Will, Steve and Joyce Coy, and Kevin and Sharon Murnahan. Very special thank you and prayers to everyone at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and Universal Home Health and Hospice Care. Thanks to all of the many doctors for their tireless care. Finally, to all of Matt’s friends and neighborhood kids, remember Grandma loved you and hold tight to Jesus.
She loved God, her family, animals, growing flowers, cooking and spending time with her family.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church which she loved dearly. When able, she was part of the Life Beyond Loss Grief Support Group.
Per her request, her body will be cremated with a burial mass at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the ALS Association.

Allen D. McClure

Allen D. McClure, 60, of West Liberty, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born in Logan County on Nov. 13, 1949, a son of Dale McClure, who survives in West Liberty, and the late Patricia Kilgore McClure. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Dee; and a brother-in-law, Edwin Dee.
On Dec. 30, 1969, he married the former Kathy Dee in Bellefontaine and she survives, along with a son, James “Jamie” McClure of Columbus; daughter, Allison (Rob) Louden of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren, Tyler and Anna Louden of Bellefontaine, two brothers, Roy McClure and Robert (Cyndi) McClure, both of West Liberty; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Wayne) Coder of Waynesfield and Gale Dee of Richmond, Va.; brother-in-law, Michael Dee, and mother-in-law, Virginia Ritter Dee, both of Homestead, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews, and his three golfing buddies, Bill “Woody” Woodruff, Doug “Pole Cat” Poulin and Don “Mapes” Maples.
Al was a 1967 graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School and later served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Navistar in Springfield after 36 years and then worked for DP&L reading meters. He also served as zoning inspector for Monroe Township for several years.
He was a member of the B.P.O.Elks Lodge 132, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and The Union Club, Springfield.
He was an avid reader and loved history, especially the Civil War.
His pastimes included golfing, bowling, fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved the time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Pastors Ron Irick and Ray Headings officiate a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Friday in Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral Friday. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Logan County District Library, 220 N. Main St., Bellefontaine 43311; and The American Heart Association, 15120 Collections Center Drive, Chicago IL 60693.
