Joseph S. Van Hyning, 80, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, in Chandler. He was born in Zanesfield and moved his family to Arizona in 1960.
A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, he later became a railroad machinist in Ohio. He retired from Allied Signal (Honeywell) after 33 years in Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joyce. Survivors include his four children, Terri, Rick, Jeff and Chris; a daughter-in-law Annette; a son-in-law, Frank; and many other family members.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, AZ 85014. Bunker’s Garden Chapel in Mesa, Ariz., handled arrangements.
