With clipboards in hand, Annie Close of Bellefontaine, left, and Paula Partin of Belle Center judge entries Tuesday in the Bellefontaine City School’s Fine Arts Show, including a motorized windmill sculpture by student Susan Scott, in preparation for today’s show for the public at the high school.
Among the more unique entries in the Bellefontaine City Schools’ Fine Arts Show are shoes painted in the styles of varying artists, including Claude Monet, Georgia O’Keefe, Andy Warhol and Norman Rockwell. The shoes in the foreground featuring a gold Egyptian-style creation, were painted by student Alex Conner for the art show today and this evening in the high school library and atrium hallway. Student artwork in a number of mediums selected by Holly Ruggles and Sandy Winter, high school art teachers, and middle school art teacher Nancy Magnuson are on display. In addition, the middle school and high school orchestras, bands and choirs perform at 7 p.m. tonight. (EXAMINER PHOTOS | MANDY HOCHSTEDLER)
