Fairbanks piled up 522 yards of offense en route to a 69-15 win over host Ridgemont on Friday in Northwest Central Conference football action.
The Panthers are now 6-2 overall and 5-0 in the NWCC. The Gophers fall to 1-7, 1-4. Fairbanks used a dominating rushing attack that racked up 467 yards and eight trips to the end zone. In the first quarter, Fairbanks received three touchdowns from Tyler Smith, one from Max Burnside and a touchdown pass from Austin Clarridge to Nick Gibson. Those scores gave the Panthers a 34-0 lead. Gibson added another trip to the end zone in the second quarter to give Fairbanks a 41-0 halftime advantage. The third quarter saw Fairbanks get touchdowns from Jon Hackley and Austin Cain to boost their lead to 55-0. Ridgemont then recorded a safety to make it a 55-2 score. The Gophers found pay dirt twice in the fourth quarter. Derick Bailey had touchdown runs of 28 and 15 yards to make the score 55-15. The Panthers added two more scores in the fourth quarter with a TD run by Hayden Dillon and an 80-yard kickoff return for a TD by Cain.
