Susan Ryan Finch Simpson, 30, of Huntsville, died unexpectedly, Friday, May 22, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospitals, Columbus.

A loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter and aunt, she had an exuberant smile, loving eyes and was full of energy.

She was born Feb. 3, 1979, and was predeceased by her grandfather, Robert E. Finch, in 1997.

On Sept. 30, 2006, she married James Nathaniel Simpson in the Marysville First United Methodist Church and he survives, along with two daughters, Lilian Ryan Simpson, 14 months, and Olivia Sue Simpson, born May 21, 2009; her father, Ronald (Dorla) Finch of Marysville; her mother, Sandra Pullins Erwin of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Cheryl Finch Stout and Gail (Jason) Hawley, both of Bellefontaine, and Wendy Finch Mechling of Quincy; grandmother, Marjorie Finch of Marysville; three stepsisters, Bethanie Oren of Canton, Cortney Oren of Canton and Brooke (Miguel) Avello of Michigan; her father- and mother-in-law, Tim and Catherine Simpson of Guysville; three brothers-in-law, Matthew (Juli) Simpson of Pomeroy, Alex Simpson of Guysville and Donald Ebright of Quincy; nieces and nephews, Amber, Alyssa, Madelyn, Triston and Jacob; an uncle, Doug (Karen) Finch of Florida; an aunt, Brenda (Rick) Hendricks of Dublin; a grandmother-in-law, Mildred Simpson of Guysville; and many other relatives and friends.

A 1997 graduate of Marysville High School, she served as class president during her entire high school career and also played basketball, volleyball and softball.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical therapy, and a doctor of physical therapy degree magna cum laude from Ohio University in 2004.

A physical therapist, she was director of rehabilitation at Heartland of Bellefontaine.

She was a member of the Ohio Chapter of American Physical Therapy Association and Marysville First United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Paul McGuire of Belpre Heights United Methodist Church conducts a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday in Underwood Funeral Home, Marysville, where calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
