Ridgemont’s boys and girls track and field teams competed in a tri-meet Tuesday against Marion Catholic and Waynesfield-Goshen.

The Gopher girls tied WGoshen for first with 76 points with Marion Catholic in third (23). The Ridgemont boys took third with 30 points. W-Goshen won the boys meet with 110 points and Marion Catholic was second with 44.

 First-place finishes for Ridgemont’s girls were turned in by Malana Ledley in the 100 hurdles (18.40), Cierra James in the 100 (13.9) and the 300 hurdles (52.1), Liz Weyant in the 800 (3:13.1), Paige Guenther in the high jump (4-6) and the long jump (13-10), the 400 relay of James, Taylor Gaukin, Ledley and Samantha Smith (55.7) and the 1600 relay of Gaukin, Guenther, Ledley and Smith (4:47.9).

Ridgemont’s boys team saw Jake McFadden lead the way with three second-place efforts. He took runner-up in the high jump (5-2) and the long jump (17-5) and was on the secondplace 400 relay along with Shawn Smith, Reese Overly and Nathaniel Davis (52.3).

Also finishing second were Davis in the 100 (12.9), Caleb Scott in the pole vault (9-0) and the 3200 relay of Matt Scharf, Jacob Maki, Logan Brown and Justin Leonard (10:09).
