Drivers ticketed in Friday crashes

Complete crash reports weren’t immediately available at press time Friday, but officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department ticketed two motorists following a pair of minor crashes that each occurred after 3 p.m. Friday.

• Robert Baker, 48, of DeGraff, reportedly was operating a southbound pickup truck on north Main Street about 3:11 p.m. Friday near Reynolds Avenue when he rear-ended a sedan, causing disabling damage.

No injuries were reported.

The pickup truck driver was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

• Trent Schaffer, 38, of Maplewood, was cited after he reportedly attempted to pass a vehicle on the right with his tractor-trailer about 3:30 p.m. Friday on State Route 47 near County Road 32.

No injuries were reported and damage was light.
