MEMORIAL GARDEN IN BLOOM

Logan-Acres-garden

Gerald “Fuzzy” Adams, second from the left, waters a new raised flower bed last week at The Homestead at Logan Acres with the assistance of Kathy Wilson, Universal Home Health & Hospice Care worker, while other Logan Acres residents, from the left, Mary Jane Stevens, Rachel Roberts and Mary Evilsizor look on. During the fall, several raised beds and a concrete patio area were designed and installed at the center by students in Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s professional turf and landscaping program. They utilized funds that were donated to Logan Acres in memory of the late Russell Forsythe, former Logan County commissioner and resident of The Homestead. This spring, Logan Acres residents and staff planted flowers and vegetables, including green beans, peas, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. (EXAMINER PHOTO | MANDY LOEHR)
