Betty June Brandt, 81, of Findlay, and formerly of West Liberty, died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Milton, W.Va., on Oct. 18, 1932, to the late David Mark and Ruth Carey Harshbarger. She also was preceded in death by siblings, John and Catherine.
She married O. Jack Brandt on June 18, 1960, in West Virginia, and he survives, along with three children, Pastor Brad (Sherry) Brandt of Wheelersburg, Lt. Col. Matthew (Karen) Brandt of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dr. Jennifer (Jeff) Conner of Findlay; her beloved grandchildren, Julie, Katie, Logan, Marshall, Shelley, Drew and Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.
She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School in West Virginia and received her undergraduate degree from Marshall University.
Betty was an educator and taught at West Liberty-Salem, Dover and Strasburg-Franklin Tuscarawas County schools for several years.
She was a member of Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty and attended Findlay Evangelical Free Church in the most recent years. Betty loved spending time with her family and entertaining at her home.
Betty claimed the promises of Christ and lived her life in that direction. She believed in eternal life, by nothing but the grace of Christ, and nothing else!
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Findlay Evangelical Free Church, 2515 Heatherwood Drive, Findlay, and one hour prior to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Chapel, 500 Linden St., West Liberty, with her son, Pastor Bradley Brandt officiating. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
