Father injured after siblings’ domestic dispute



A brother and sister were charged with domestic violence Tuesday afternoon, and their father was transported to an area hospital following an incident at 318 E. Main St., Quincy.

Deputies responded to their address about 4:05 p.m., and spoke with Mary Barker, 28. She reported that she had been in an argument with her brother, Link R. Barker, 25, regarding his care for her children.

Ms. Barker said her brother threw her into a table, wall and a couch during the confrontation.

Her brother reported that Ms. Barker had slapped him several times during the argument.

Their father, James Barker Sr., 56, tried to break up the fight, and was injured. He was transported by Rosewood squad to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. Quincy EMS also responded to the scene.

Ms. Barker was issued a summons for domestic violence, while Link was charged with felony domestic violence because of prior convictions. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Deputies note that they have been called to the Barker residence at 318 E. Main St., Quincy, a total of 28 times since February to handle a variety of scenarios.
