Bellefontaine Intermediate student leaders host community members

Students in third through fifth grades at Bellefontaine Intermediate School welcomed leaders in the community such as policemen, parents, and business owners with open arms during the Leadership Day celebration Thursday.

This is the second year of the five-year grant funded by the I am a Leader Foundation. The Leader in Me program is a model for the staff of the intermediate school to teach students skills that will support them in all aspects of life.

“Sometimes we can subliminally tell kids they are what a piece of paper says they are,” Principal Krista Adelsberger said. “We help them find focus and purpose and this program helps kids know it’s not all about what’s on a piece of paper.”
