Felony cases presented before Judge Mark S. O’Connor are trending slightly down, according to updated statistics from Logan County Common Pleas Court.
Through April 30 of this year, 77 new cases were opened, putting prosecutors on pace to open about 230 new felony-level criminal cases this year, which, if the trend holds, would be the fewest new felony cases since 2011.
A total of 90 cases were pending at the start of the year. Combined with new and reactivated cases, 178 defendants have appeared in common pleas court so far this year.
