Huntsville council approves pay raise

During Tuesday’s regular meeting, Huntsville council members voted to raise Street Superintendent Tim Jenkins’ pay by $1 to $13, per hour effective June 1.

Council also agreed to pay $8 per hour for additional help during village cleanup days which continue through noon Friday.

Village officials also discussed an incident in which the traffic light had quit working. Mayor William Jenkins said he notified Logan County Electric Cooperative and the problem was fixed. Officials also plan to look into obtaining a grant for culvert and paving work for Willoby Street.

The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27.
