Brunner, a senior right-hander, struck out 14 of the 17 batters he faced in throwing a five-inning no-hitter.
Offensively, the second-seeded Chiefs took advantage of eight walks and 10 Meadowdale errors to coast to a 19-0 victory.
Bellefontaine is now 22-5 and advances to a sectional semifinal matchup against Springfield Shawnee on Thursday. That game will be played at 5 p.m. at Bellefontaine’s Blue Jacket Park.
The only blemish on Brunner’s day was a walk. Other than that, he was in complete control as the Lions could not make much contact against the BHS hurler.
