Jack Edson Ammons, 69, of Rome, Ga., passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in a Rome area hospital.
He was born Nov. 13, 1944, in Belle Center, a son of the late Ed and Myra Jones Ammons.
He graduated from Belle Center High School, where he met the love of his life, Ronda McCarren, whom he married, and who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Scarlett DeAnn (Greg) King of Fayetteville, Ga.; a son, Rhett Aaron (Mandy) Ammons of Canton, Ga.; a granddaughter, Avery Olivia Ammons; and a brother, Lewis Byron “Pete” (Shirley) Ammons of Newark.
He had a 50-year career in the meat industry, where he formed many long-lasting friendships. The dedication to his profession was only surpassed by his commitment to his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He cherished the time spent on weekends with friends and family.
