Arrows can’t shake Dew in loss to Chiefs

Junior Sidney Dew tossed a no-hitter to power Bellefontaine’s softball team past visiting Tecumseh 6-0 Tuesday at Blue Jacket Park in a Central Buckeye Conference game.

The Chieftains improve to 11-10 overall and 7-5 in the CBC Kenton Trail division. The Arrows fall to 5-15, 2-12.

Bellefontaine took an early lead after scoring two runs in the first inning. The Chiefs added a run in the second inning and another in the third inning to take a 4-0 advantage.

Dew kept Tecumseh off the bases, while the BHS offense plated two insurance runs in the fifth inning. That gave the Chiefs a 6-0 lead.

For Bellefontaine’s offense, Jenna Van Hoose went 2-4 and Jazmyn Haley went 2-3.
